The Griffin

Long ago and far away,
a King rules the land in his own selfish way.
Inside the castle, right at midnight,
suppressed spirits whisper about their plight.
The maiden, who's locked up in the tower,
it's kept a secret and nobody knows.
Except the man sleeping in the forest.
He dreams of her under the star filled sky.
The next day, he felt emptiness inside.
That's when he told the Griffin his story.
The Griffin, a creature of sympathy,
listens closely to these romantic dreams.
To the tower the Griffin took the man,
rescued the maiden in the moon lit land.
