To free yourself is to be.
This STORY is ABOUT Herman the black squirrel.
The following is written by:Peanuts The Mouse
"Herman"

page 1 page 2 page 3

Herman informed that the reason he could not climb the tree after them is because while he was unconscious, the abductors had cut off all his finger and toe nails.
Herman went on to say that he is just going to sit at the foot of the tree where he last saw his squirrelfriend, and her abductors until he figures out what he will do next.
I asked him if he knew where they took her but he replied informing me that it was too dark to see where they had carried her off to. Herman was teary eyed and noticeably shaking the whole time he told me what had happened to his squirrelfriend. I felt really bad for him. I wanted to take the rest day off to help him but I had missed too many days from work already.
When I got back into the Limousine, it was 6:35 am. Bonsai was snoring while he slept on the passenger side of the front seat.
Now here is when it all started! Because I had stopped at the park, I was now five minutes behind schedule. Because it takes me an hour-and-a-half to get to the airport terminals, I knew I would be at least five minutes late.
Soon as I put on my seat-belt, the limousine squealed its tires and took off.
Bonsai being jostled then began to wake up by rubbing the sleep out of his eyes.
I then saw a small brown squirrel being chased by Herman. Herma must of recognized this brown squirrel to be one of the abductors of his squirrel friend. Herman was franticly chasing after him.
The fleeing brown squirrel jerked his tail while Herman tried to catch him by biting onto it. The brown squirrel, looking for a way to escape ran across the street. Herman followed right behind him until he lost his footing on the wet oily pavement.
By this time, Bonsai was fully awake. He saw Herman trying to get to his feet. We were headed straight for him, (The limousine was doing at least 35 mile per-hour.) When Bonsai barked at me to, "Hit the brakes!" it was too late. Herman never had a chance and I saw him disappear under the fast moving limousine.
Looking in the rear-view mirror I watched in horror as Herman's little body rolled flipping violently until it bashed against curb. I knew he was dead right away.
Bonsai barked at me to stop and I tried to disengage the satellite system but failed. Bonsai realized that I was not going to be able to stop. So, using the button, he rolled down his window and jumped out of the fast moving limousine. I could hear Bonsai yelp as I watched in the rear-view mirror and saw his body skid and then flip across the cement pavement.
The limousine kept racing over the speed-limit until it was back on schedule. When I got to the airport, I found out that the clients I was supposed to pick up had missed their flight.
So to everyone who has been saying that I ran Herman over on purpose. I did not. The limousine did.
"Thank you for reading my story." Peanuts

Rest in peace Herman.
PS: For those who are worried about Bonsai, he is doing fine.
