Charlie said thanks for helping her and that
because of my quick thinking I saved her
life. Charlie went on to say that they are
now a little behind schedule so we would
have to make up some time. Charlie asked
me if I would tell him all about myself.
So, I told Charlie my life story from the
beginning. From the time when I was just
a young hungry maggot just about to dry up
before I found that dead mouse. Charlie seemed
to enjoy listening to my life story while
swimming out of the harbor and into the open
water.
When I felt I was talking too much about
myself I stopped and asked Charlie to tell
me her life story. Charlie said that she
was happy that I was not vomiting, because
it almost made her throw up and I would of
most certain would have drowned. Then Charlie
told me her life story. She said that she
grew up in a rain barrel on of Richard's
farmhouse.
He said Richard is one of Rick's friends
and that he collects rainwater in barrels
to water all of his plants. Charlie said,
"I lived on mosquito larvae and ...flies!
But do not worry my friend I will not swallow
you."
It was the first time anyone has called me
friend and it made my itty-bitty heart smile!
While we talked time seem to fly by.
He went on to say that Rick brought Shea
over one day and that they became instant
friends.
She said that Shea was the one who told Richard
to start training me to be a mercenary. So
acting on her advice Richard began to train
her. She informed me that the training was
very hard and part of her training was that
she had to swim three miles every day. Charlie
also said that Richard had her jumping out
of the water through hoops. Then when her
day of training was over and it was time
her to eat Richard had an exercise for that
too!
Charlie said that Richard would hold a live
wiggly worm over her head and let her bite
onto it. Then when Richard knew she had a
good bite he would pull her out of the water
and she would hang on by her mouth until
the worm ripped in half. She then informed
me that Richard called it ,
"Tug-Of -War"
"Tug Of War" between Richard and
Charlie.
"I never would have guessed that I would
become a mercenary"
Charlie also said that it was not all that
bad because right before she went to sleep,
Richard would pour cool water into the rain
barrel and that she loved to relax in the
bubbles it made.
Then Charlie said,
"You know it was Richard who found out
where the aliens are holding Zongzi's brother,
the famous Alexander Napoleon Crocket. Richard
found out from a black ant and the ant found
out by over hearing alien conversations he
picked up by using his antennas!"
Charlie was beginning to struggle with every
breath so she stopped telling me the rest
of her story and said she better concentrate
on swimming through the strong current.
When we came to a stop, Charlie said,
"I would have never thought that I could
have so much strength. However before dropping
me in the lake, Shea had me swim in place
every morning. For hours on end! I am lucky
to have so many good friends who truly believe
in me! You risked your life by fling into
that rat's ear and now you're on your way
on save someone that you have never met!
You are some kind of hero Angie Strawberry.
If you do not make it back alive I want to
tell you how much I enjoyed or conversation.
And your friendship! I have never met anyone
who loves life the way you do. You know how
short your life is and you still put it on
the line for others!"
Charlie hesitated and then said,
"Oh no! The sun is beginning to go down!
I hope were not too late! Shea said to wait
over by that sunken fishing boat so we will.
I then asked Charlie,
"What are we waiting for?"
She replied by saying,
"We are waiting for the king."
"What is a king"
I then replied.
Charlie then informed me that it is a very,
very huge fish. She continued on saying that
she has never seen king and can not wait
to see how big the king really is.
Please come back to read the rest of the
story!
I will be putting up the next chapters next
month!
